Creating beautiful spaces, "Inside and Out."
Our designs begin with you; with elements considering a person’s natural environment to bring together your "Inside and Out." Designing a significant pretense, or feeling, to present a stunning view, no matter your personal circumstances, an amazing seat awaits on either side of your window. Either side of the window meaning; embracing our California weather by replenishing our landscapes to become the atmospheric bridge, inviting the ambience of the outdoors into our homes. Drought Daisy originated during the worst of the California Drought, which left behind a disconnect for appreciating our landscapes. After several years in the Interior Design Business, this ignited Brenda to crossbreed the elements of interior and exterior design. Brenda embodied this concept through teachings from generations of ancestors and cherished mentors in the Landscape Design Industry. Her great-grandmother, a full-blooded California Maidu Indian, taught her father to possess the competence of a Master Gardener. It was with the passing of her father that truly magnified this passion for the art of fine gardening; an art passed down through her lineage over hundreds of years.
In the midst of creating Drought Daisy, Brenda met Camerino Marciel in 2015, an Irrigation Specialist with over 15 years of experience. Born into a family of farming and landscaping, he shares Brenda’s rich understanding from generations within the art of horticulture resulting in:
- Meeting every deadline with quality and pride, at a pace driven by culturally rich customs
- Honoring the needs of current and future environmental challenges
- Installing modern irrigation systems (up to 50-70% deduction in water consumption)
- Strategic planning, with a creative nudge, to continually transform your landscape with every season
In reflection of these results, Brenda has gained an impressive amount of experience over her time as a business woman. She began work in the Corporate world at Interim Personnel Inc. for 13 years where she eventually was promoted to regional manager under Sales and Marketing. Brenda later decided to move to a smaller enterprise, Nelson Personnel Inc., where she helped double and maintain the yearly sales amongst her branches. This change, from a large corporation to a small company, empowered her to thoroughly see how to expand and operate a small business as she’s taken this knowledge into Drought Daisy. And after 20 successful years in the Corporate world, Brenda focused to extend her capabilities into the Design world. She proceeded in courses at nurseries, organic farms, and college campuses to further her education. In addition to these courses, Brenda consistently is keeping up with her research on new and old species, soil supplementation to enrich varying native grounds, and overall, the craft of horticulture.
Brenda, Camerino, and the rest of the Drought Daisy crew understand what it takes to work hard and value their customers’ interests. After several projects with Kaiser Permanente and hearing the heartwarming stories that occurred within the gardens, landscapes, and spaces they created, Brenda’s ultimate goal is to offer exceptional views from every seat, “Inside and Out”, prompting memories grand to the eye with complete regard to every detail.
